    Narrow Beam Lighting

Optic narrow beam lamps are an innovative lighting solution designed to focus light into a concentrated, narrow beam. Unlike standard beam lamps that distribute light more broadly, these advanced lamps use cutting-edge optical technology to precisely direct light exactly where it's needed.

    Beam & Specification Guide

When to specify a narrow beam

How beam angle, ceiling height and intent come together — and when an Optic lamp is the right call.

    Beam Angle

    What is a Narrow Beam?

Beam angle measures the cone of useful light from a lamp. Standard reflector lamps spread 36–60°. Narrow beam Optic lamps focus that energy down to 10–24° — far more lumens land where you want them, and the surrounding area stays unobtrusively dim.

    High Ceilings

    Optic AR111 for High Spaces

Standard LED downlights lose punch above 3m. The Optic AR111 packs serious lumen output into a precision reflector — light still hits the floor with intensity from 4–6m ceilings. Ideal for atriums, mezzanines and double-height living spaces.

    Accent Lighting

    Accent & Pin-Spot Lighting

For artwork, sculpture, signage or a specific feature, narrow beam Optic lamps create a clear "pool" of light that defines the object without spilling onto surrounding surfaces. The contrast is what makes accent lighting work.

    PAR111

    Optic PAR Lamps

The PAR (Parabolic Aluminised Reflector) format gives a self-contained narrow-beam lamp that screws into a standard ES holder — no specialist fitting required. Excellent for retrofitting old halogen track lighting or pendant spotlights.

    Optic vs Series 2

Series 2 covers the standard narrow-to-flood beam range with anti-glare optics; Optic pushes beam angles even tighter for true pin-spotting and high-ceiling work. Use Series 2 for general accent, Optic for precision feature lighting.

    Pair with Adjustable Spotlights

Narrow beam Optic lamps work best in adjustable fittings — eyeball downlights, track spots or surface spotlights — so the beam can be aimed precisely. View our adjustable spotlight range to find the right host fitting.
